{"id":377,"date":"2018-11-14T16:24:04","date_gmt":"2018-11-14T16:24:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepember.org\/?page_id=377"},"modified":"2022-03-14T20:55:34","modified_gmt":"2022-03-15T00:55:34","slug":"services","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/thepember.org\/index.php\/services\/","title":{"rendered":"Services"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/thepember.com\/index.php\/the-museum\/services\">The Pember Museum &amp; Nature Preserve<\/a><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>The Pember Museum and Nature Preserve are ideal sites for field trips.\u00a0 The Pember Museum collects, preserves, exhibits, studies and shares its treasures.\u00a0 It is more than a collection of objects.\u00a0 The <a href=\"http:\/\/thepember.com\/index.php\/nature-preserve\">Pember Nature Preserve<\/a> in Hebron is a sanctuary for native animals and plants; it is a place for informal study of the natural world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Group programs<\/strong> are available year-round at the Pember Museum and Nature Preserve on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.\u00a0 Visits to either place can be scheduled by contacting the Pember Museum.<\/p>\n<p>Activities are scheduled for 30 &#8211; 60 minutes at the Pember Museum and may include self-guided tours, staff presentations, scavenger hunts, hands-on activities, slide shows and more.\u00a0 Topics include general information on the Museum and natural history, animal classification, endangered species, insects, birds and more.\u00a0 Topics can also be prepared to suit the needs of groups.<\/p>\n<p>Activities last 30 minutes to an hour at the Pember Nature Preserve and focus on the observation and study of local plants, animals and the environment.\u00a0 Topics include pond life, forests, insects, birds and others.<\/p>\n<p>Group size is limited to 30 students at one time and adult chaperones are required.\u00a0 Larger groups may be divided, with each section making alternating visits to the Museum and Preserve.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Offsite programs are available<\/strong> to schools or outdoor sites and may be scheduled by contacting the Museum.\u00a0 Topics are presented by Museum educators and include many natural history topics.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thepember.org\/index.php\/services\/loan-kits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Loan kits<\/a> containing hands-on nature education materials and activities are available for group use.\u00a0 These kits can be used by teachers and other group leaders or Pember Museum educators can present an <strong>hour-long interactive program<\/strong> involving any loan kit.\u00a0 Many topics are available including birds, senses, beavers, skulls and bones, night animals, plants, pond life, seashore life, bird nests and eggs, insects, rocks and minerals and fossils.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fees:<\/strong>\u00a0 Group and school services fees are $4\/student with no charge for adult chaperones.\u00a0 Groups with visits scheduled at both the Pember Museum and Nature Preserve are charged $7\/student. Offsite loan kit presentations by Museum educators is $175 with an additional charge of $.40 per mile.
