March First Friday at the Pember Library and Museum is pleased to present Vermont painter and illustrator, Christopher Smith.\u00a0This will be Chris’ third show at the Pember and we’re excited to showcase the new direction he has entered, and is experimenting with in his recent oil paintings.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe’re saturated with cultural agendas designed to make everyone feel good\u201d says Smith. \u201cAnd art is no exception. An artist needs to constantly rediscover his bearings. I’ve been exploring what my brush does when it doesn’t have an objective.\u201d<\/p>\n
Chris graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a major in illustration, and studied art and architecture in Rome, Turkey, and other countries. Much of the show will remain up into March. A play list of music will accompany the opening.<\/p>\n
The Museum will be opened during the event.<\/p>\n
