Frank P. Craig, 4th of 6 children was born March 1868 to Andrew and Mary Catherine Pace Craig in Watsonville, CA.

His father crossed the plains with his mother in 1863 and was a pioneer attorney of Stockton; later locating in Watsonville he served as superior judge of Santa Cruz County for twelve years. In 1880, he moved to San Francisco and was district attorney until the time of his death in 1903. Frank’s mother was a daughter of Judge Jonathan Pace of Chillicothe, Missouri, and she died in 1916.

Frank was interested in oology, and he collected eggs on the Farallon Islands multiple times in the 19th century. He ran an advertisement in the Oologist Volume III, 1891: WANTED.— To exchange first-class, carefully identified sets; for like sets. Reliable collectors send lists and receive mine. As a young man he was also interested in fine pigeons and Carneau pigeons, and he was a member of several pigeon clubs. In 1907, he was elected as mayor of Larkspur, CA. Besides owning a wholesale coffee and spice business in San Francisco, he maintained his interests in the city government and politics.
Frank’s brother, Judson Law (1872-1952), collected with Frank on the Farallon’s in 1891 and without him in 1896. Judson was the youngest of the Craig children.

Frank died on September 21, 1954, in San Francisco, CA, when he was 86 years old.
