Other items found in the Pember’s home attic but were not on exhibit: Two crate boards are unknown (#11 & #13). The earliest NY city directory we can find Franklin in is in 1876. Since he and Ellen would rent a home while in the city, the date of crate board #11 is unknown. The date for crate board #13 could be anywhere between 1873 (when Pember built his house) to 1924 when he died. Before 1873 he lived in South Granville.
